Well, it’s a democracy here in the USA. Someone has got to do something about it. That is if the military knows what’s good for its country.

I remember it well. It would be for congress to decide if that was the case, it’s a political decision. I don’t bother with politics that’s for people who wear suits and talk a lot. I obey the orders of the officers appointed over me, and trust their decisions.

Um isn’t it illegal to threaten the president in the u.s.? But yeah, David Cameron is better than Obama.

The president of the U.S. Libertarian Party stated "maybe segregation wasn’t the worst idea in the world," when referring to the difference between a multicultural "big government" society and, what he believed, to be a segregated "small government" society during the 1950s. He went on to say that "when government gets in everyones way then everyone suffers and minorities have suffered ever since brown vs. board of education." This comes not too long after Rand Paul made racially charged comments too. Also, Bill Maher, a self-proclaimed "left-wing libertarian," made racially charged statements this week stating "Obama needs to show up at a meeting with BP and be a ‘real black’ President and lift up his shirt to show them his guns sayin’ what’s the f—ing problem here and shoot someone in the foot." Are libertarians prejudiced?

I’m a Libertarian and I’m not prejudiced. A belief that government shouldn’t interfere in private business, to include forced hiring requirements/quotas, doesn’t mean that a person is prejudiced.

No we are not. Every time government tries to correct something, they go overboard tilting the seesaw in the other direction. Who ever is in power has the weight and the rules go their way. This is why government cannot fix things.

Hatred is wrong and keeping people down is wrong. Real leaders allow the best to rise; it doesn’t matter what color they are, what sex they are, if they have two feet, and two hands. Because of the prejudice of the world and country, the good cream has not risen to the top. This is why we have a glass ceiling for many.

Libertarians clearly believe in free speech, not political correctness.

The Libs are always talking about mutual respect and how they never get taken seriously and how the Conservatives are always getting their own way. If that’s so nothing should have changed in the US since 1776. Same Sex Marriages, Women’s right to vote, Civil Rights act, Gays allowed in the Military… The list goes on and on. Liberals ALWAYS get their own way. So why can’t the liberals at least be fiscally responsible and stop spending and tripling the US deficit? Guess it a one way street with "you people"

Im a lifeguard/swim instructor at this pool, but I only have been working 8-10 hours a week because they dont give me many hours. Im a student so this is ok, but frustrating in the summer since its not much money. Anyways, Im going to Arizona on July 20th for vacation and so I went into work today to ask for the week off and they said, well we were gonna give you 25 hours of work that week and the next week and those are your busiest weeks of the summer. The rest of the weeks Im back to 8 hours. They said I should cancel my trip or risk consequences because noone else can take vacation in July no. I might even have to resign. What should I do??? Im going on the trip. tickets are non-refundable etc. but am I in the wrong for not taking it off sooner? I just thought it wouldnt be a big deal since I never get any shifts as it is…Im also gone for 2 weeks at the beginning of July to the yukon for a fishing expedition, but they said that wasnt a big deal at all.
Everyone took their vacation in July which is why their short. I said, NOONE is allowed to take vacation in july anymore now… and its not seasonal, its an indoor wave pool so hot temperatures outside dont affect attendance much

Seems to me that you should have made your reservations AFTER you cleared your work schedule. Now you are faced with going on your Arizona trip and coming home to unemployment. You must have had an inkling that a life guard was going to be busy during the hotter weeks of the summer, right?

And if “nobody takes vacation in July” why is your trip to the Yukon in the beginning of July for 2 weeks not an issue as well? Something doesn’t sound right here.

Looks like July is going to be a no-work month for you. You come back from the Yukon trip about the 14th and 6 days later you are off to Arizona. Nice schedule.

Maybe you should line up another job for August because if I were your boss, you wouldn’t have a job.

I really want to join the navy, but my ex bf is in the nat guard, and he is constantly telling me how horrible it is and how that would be the biggest mistake of my life to join. Idk if thats because he blames the military for ruining our relationship (we stayed together thru basic & ait but when he got home after 2 mos he was a complete a** and we had issues before he left too so i broke up with him) so i was just curious if most people do enjoy it? I’m still pretty sure im going to do it, i think he just doesnt want me to go far away?

not me im not in it.. but have a coulple friends in the navy and army.. lolz.. the Army one doesn’t like it much and just started.. it gos on your own prefence’s.and the one in the navy is in japan and he likes it..they just play video games lolz

It is such a hard question to answer because joining the Army was both the worst and the best thing I have ever done. The feeling of brotherhood (forgive the gender specific) is so strong and it is a really great feeling. However, once a family (spouse and kids) are involved it becomes a great hardship and I would not recommend it. So I say if you don’t have any serious relationships you can gain alot from joining.

Well my grandpa was in the army and he was in the vietnam war. He hated it and had nightmares.
A friend of mine is a marine and he loves it.
Another friend of mine is in the army and he hates being deployed but he really loves the whole shooting and blowing up stuff.
My neighbor is in the navy and he says it’s the best choice he’s ever made.

I guess it really depends what kind of person you are, what you do and what you make of your time.

To each their own. I love being around Marines and I will soon be enlisted. I think I will enjoy myself just because I like new things, and like I said….i love being around Marines. Feels like home. I also enjoy the structure. I have heard it both ways though. Some people hate it. Some people love it.
